Here’s what happened in Marketing the week of February 19, 2024

With the SuperBowl in our rearview mirror, things have slowed down a bit (a bit) on the marketing front. But there are still plenty of great nuggets to share!

Here’s what you may have missed in marketing this past week:

St Patrick’s Eve?

Jameson is making St Patrick’s Eve a thing, complete with a Times Square ball drop, to try to shift the celebration to Saturday night.

Jenn forgets the “Rachel”

Poor Jennifer Anniston, first the Beckhams forgot her name, then she forgot her Friends co-star “Ross”, now she can’t even remember the iconic haircut she’s responsible for. She better remember that Uber Eats campaign.

Dune Part Two in AR

Honestly, this is not the most attractive ad I have seen. I would have preferred a lens that put me into Zendaya’s dress from the premier.

Smokey Bear turns 80

The star of America’s longest running PSA is celebrated in a new campaign.

The Liquid Death Ad Saga Comes to an End?

This one had me on the edge of my seat all week: Coinbase (not DUDE Wipes) finally had the winning bid for the Liquid Death case ad. Was kind of rooting for DUDE Wipes… feels like they got a bum deal.

It was eBay’s 9th largest sale ever, with US$500,114!
