I’m a problem solver.
In my professional career, I use marketing to solve business problems.
Occasionally, I also use marketing to solve personal problems. Like helping people say or spell my last name, Meyouhas, correctly.
Most people see my name, pause and take a deep breath before attempting to say it. I have gotten called everything from Myass to Mayonnaise. I get it! There are a lot of vowels. It’s intimidating. Unless you know the trick…
Break it down into 3 common English words:
ME
YOU
HAS
Which my family has since adopted as a bit of a (very grammatically incorrect) slogan. “Me you has coffee?” Or our way of saying “wanna have coffee with me?”).

This nifty trick has helped many colleagues, friends, and acquaintances remember my last name DESPITE the overabundance of vowels.
Now you know how to say it too!
So if YOU HAS need for marketing strategy help, contact ME. (I apologize for that…)
But seriously, just call me Maya.
***This pronunciation has been Anglicized and I happily respond to it. If you wish to learn the true Hebrew pronunciation, it is:
Meh-you-chass (the CH is a fricative H from the back of the throat… like in Chutzpah or Channukah.)
It means “privileged” or “from a distinguished background” in Hebrew and can be traced back to the town of Mijas in Spain, where my whole family lived until the Spanish Inquisition.
